WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL A LESSON

At Mobile Marlins our objective is to get your kids swimming consistently each week so that they progress with their swimming. We do however, understand that there are times that it is unavoidable to cancel your child’s lesson due to them being unwell, you/your child or your pool are unavailable or there is unsuitable weather for the lesson. We will always consider the temperature of the water and the surrounding air when weather is inclement as it is this is the most important part of the child’s learning environment. These are the most important factors in determining if a lesson is to go ahead or be postponed/cancelled for a more suitable time.
Please be assured that it is entirely up to you if you feel you want to cancel a lesson but we do ask that you consider the following to ensure fairness for you and also our Swimming Instructors who are your child’s teachers who are usually university students who rely on these lessons for income.

CANCELLATION POLICY

All cancellations seeking a make up lesson will only be accepted up to 4 hours prior. We do understand that it is sometimes hard to provide this much notice however, even in the case of poor weather (excluding thunderstorms), if our instructor is either en-route or arrives at your home and there has been no or insufficient notification of cancellation (thunderstorms excluded) your lesson will still be charged and no make-up lesson will be offered.

Cancellations regarding unavailability for your lesson time with the intention of scheduling a make up lesson must be made at least 48 hours prior to scheduled class. If this timeframe is met a make up lesson will be offered at a time that is suitable for your Instructor and yourself.

Unless you have confirmed at your time of booking your package that you will be unavailable, a maximum of 1 make up class in that term will be offered.

If you have had to cancel your child’s lesson and you have given us sufficient notice prior to the lesson (4hours) Mobile Marlins will provide your child with a make up lesson of the same duration as the cancelled class although the exact time and day of this class will need to be confirmed with you and your instructor

For Children who have 1 lesson per week in a 10 week term, the maximum make up lessons for the term is 1 Makeup lesson times and will need to be suitable to you and also your instructor.

For Children who have 2 lessons per week in a 10 week term the maximum make up lessons for the term is 2) Makeup lesson times will need to be suitable to you and also your instructor

If your child’s instructor is unable to teach due to themselves being ill or other misadventure, we will call you as soon we are contacted by them. We will then give you the opportunity to reschedule the class at a time that suits you.

Partial cancellations of lessons will not receive makeups or credited back to you.

Make up classes must be completed in the current or the next term program or the school holidays that are between those two terms.

Once a makeup lesson has been scheduled and confirmed it cannot be rescheduled again.

If your Mobile Marlins or your child’s instructor believes that the weather is not suitable for your child’s lesson, you will be contacted prior to your class postpone the class and rescheduled for another time suitable to your instructor and yourself.  However, we can always determine suitability depending on the location and setting of your pool, sometimes it is terrible weather but your pool is perfectly suitable for your child’s lesson - in this case the lesson will go ahead.

Please always keep in mind that if we have not contacted you to postpone/cancel your child’s lesson on that day but YOU think that your pool or the weather isn’t suitable for a lesson, please call us to discuss further.

We will never cancel a lesson without first attempting to contact you so if we have not called, please always be prepared for your class even if the weather is poor.

This cancellation policy should be read in conjuction with our Covid Safe Policy. If yourself or anyone in your home has cold or flu symptoms or has been deemed a close contact of Covid-19 please phone to discuss further

COVID SAFE POLICY

Mobile Marlins COVID Safety Policy

We have implemented this policy for the ongoing safety of all our participants and your instructor

Your Mobile Marlins Instructor is double vaccinated for Covid-19 and will update with boosters at appropriate vaccination intervals.

Instructors will, prior to lessons, use soap and water to wash hands thoroughly, and hand sanitiser.

All equipment used is cleaned and sanitised before each location.

If your instructor is unwell, they have covid symptoms or have been in contact with someone who has or is suspected of having covid, they will take a RAT (Rapid Antigen Test) to check if they are covid positive.

If your instructor is positive, they will be required to self-isolate for 7 days and will need a negative RAT before they return to instruction. Lessons will need to be postponed until your instructor is clear and 3 days without covid symptoms.

In this case where the instructor has cancelled you will be refunded for lessons missed.

If you or a member of your household have recently been exposed to covid, please contact us with you isolation dates and we will arrange for makeup classes once you are all clear (please see cancellation policy for number of classes missed)

Please confirm by email that your child or family member who has Covid has been at least 7 days isolated since positive RAT and 3 days without symptoms before your child returns to lessons.
